Véronique CAHEN
Genealogist for more than a decade, "because" or "thanks" to Sarah, my eldest daughter, I went on my family research and, by chance, at the archives of Paris Consistory, I found the ketouba of my great-great-parents, a document that allowed me to launch myself on this part of my tree… and progres on my personal genealogy for my son Elie and my youngest daughter Dinah. With this discovery that provided me a family pan, stung for a long time by the research virus, I launched myself into more general projects, and I began the systematic survey of the Ketoubot in the Archives of Paris Consistory. Having worked at CGJ for a few years allowed me to be in contact with many people. The first two volumes of this survey have been published by the AJECLAP (1872-1884 and 1885-1895). The third volume (1896-1902) has been edited by the CGJ. Other surveys are in preparation. In addition to these, in collaboration with Rabbi Salomon Malka, rabb of Berith Shalom synagogue (Saint-Lazare Street in Paris)we are preparing a list of the ketoubot of Algiers, from 1877 records.
