A walk which will take you from the portals of Notre Dame to the Jewish Marais and the poignant Memorial to those deported. You will learn about the history of the Jews in Paris, the anti-Semitism they suffered as well as how they became successful traders. Included is the world renowned synagogue ‘on’ the rue Pavée, and the famous rue des Rosiers. We shall recall the waves of expulsion and immigration from The Middle Ages to the present time. We shall also admire, in the forecourt of the Museum of Jewish Art, the strange, modern sculpture of Dreyfus.
