The presentation will explore the importance of Jewish headstone research and familiarize the attendees with one of JewishGen's largest and most powerful tools for researchers, the JOWBR (JewishGen’s Online Worldwide Burial Registry) database. Attendees will be able to get a fuller understanding of the importance of burial record research, the sources of records included in JewishGen's JOWBR database and tips on how to access them. They will view images of some of the holdings of the database. I will also explain how attendees can help JewishGen grow the database through their own efforts or by leading projects for their local genealogical or other groups.
