Families

Generations of Schlossbergs have enriched the story of Jewish music. The speaker traces a family line from cantor Arye Leyb (the Voice of the Lion) to Izaak (music director of the Kaminska Yiddish Theater and composer of the Sirota R’tzei)  to singer and actress Sonia, to pianist Roman, and to busker Abraham. On a more personal level, the speaker will tell how music may be able to help even non-musicians in their genealogical search for lost family. (With photos and original recordings).
