On the occasion of the publication Synagogues de Tunisie. Monuments d’une mémoire et d’une identité, Kremlin-Bicêtre, Editions Esthétiques du Divers, 2010.

The work carried out in Tunisia for seven years by Dominique Jarrassé and Colette Bismuth-Jarrassé has, through buildings gathered and analyzed to reconstruct a history of Judaism in Tunisia. The oratory or the synagogue became the place where the memory of families and communities is written.

Starting from the oratories of Tunis through Nabeul and Kairouan, the conference will lead you to Djerba.
