The Lodz Area Research Group (LARG) meets at the annual IAJGS conference to network with other Lodz area researchers and share information about Lodz and the surrounding communities. Lodz Area Research Group encompasses 80 Jewish communities in towns surrounding Lodz, which were once part of the Kingdom of Poland and occupied by the Russian Empire from 1815 until 1918. This research group is dedicated to the rescue and preservation of materials relating to those Jewish communities to serve as a living memorial to our ancestors' impact on, and contribution to, Poland's second largest city. For more information and a list of the towns included, see http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/Lodz/LARG.htm.
