Researching 17th and 18th c. families in Bohemia

I will show that you need to use a combination of very different sources. You need also to understand the historical context. through reading historical studies about the area where your family used to live. As a case study I will use my own family history i.e the FUERTH, STERN and DUSCHENES families and show how I succeded to trace my ancestors back to early 17th century. I used a combination of 18th century censuses, wills, tombstones, Familiant Buecher and embroidered textile circumcision binders. I have also used papers written by local historians in the 1920s. I have been done most of the research with the help of Internet, but I have also visited the State Archive in Prague and shared a lot of information with other family history researchers as well as professional genealogists.
