A method is described to aggregate information from protection letters, tax records and court protocols to construct a picture of the 17th and 18th century Jewish community in Stühlingen, Baden, Germany. Computer spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft
Excel, allows one to accumulate apparently unrelated pieces of information to construct an amazingly detailed mosaic of the historic family structure.
