Archives in France are organized into a network of national archives, departmental archives, regional, departmental and communal archives services.
In the 70s, genealogists have invaded the reading rooms of the archives, mainly to find life records registers and notarial records.
To meet this demand, over a decade, archives have been digitizing the most requested documents: lifre records, cadastral plans, military records, population censuses, tables of succession ... Since 2003, these documents have been made available for free on Internet.
Currently, from all over the world, you can access documents from more than 100 Archives services representing more than 170 million pages.
We will present in detail how to access them.
