Frightening experiences of death threat and mourning during the Shoah period have left survivors with long lasting psychological aftermath. Psychotherapy with survivors’ offspring show that fright has passed on to the second and third generation. Since fright and trauma are above all subjective experiences, how can we explain such transmission? What kind of psychotherapy can cure it? These questions will be discussed and illustrated with short clinical examples.
