Utah Jewish History & Present
There are an estimated 6,000 Jews in Utah,or about 0.2% of the state's population of almost 3 million. Most of the state's Jews live in the Salt Lake City area with smaller populations in Ogden and Park City. Jewish history in Utah goes back to 1850. Simon Bamberger was the first non-Mormon and only Jewish governor of Utah almost 100 years ago. For more information on the Jews of Utah, refer to the resources below.
