The IAJGS recognizes that Special Interest Groups, JewishGen Research Districts, Birds of a Feather, and Research Groups are all important parts of the Jewish genealogical community. With members scattered throughout the world, our annual conference has been a logical and convenient place for these groups to hold annual meetings and to organize programming of interest to their members.
Because our next conference will be held virtually in April 2027, the IAJGS is offering its resources to these groups to help with coordinating and hosting virtual meetings.
What Are All These Groups?
- Special Interest Groups (SIGs) share interest in a specific geographic region of origin.
- JewishGen Research Districts (RDs) are focused on specific geographic regions of origin or specialty topic.
- Birds of a Feather groups (BOFs) are informal groups that meet because of shared interests such as researching a particular town, using a Facebook page, managing a newspaper, using an Apple product as your research platform, or being a professional genealogist.
- Research Groups (RGs) are focused on a particular town, area, or district.
