Application for membership in the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies (IAJGS)

Regular Members

Fees for Regular Member organizations are set at $0.50 per year per member in the organization with a minimum of $18.00.

SIG Members

Fees for Special Interest Group Members are set at $0.50 per year for the average number of attendees at meetings of the Member with a minimum of $18.00.

Virtual Members

Fees for virtual members are set at $36.00 per year.

Associate Members

Fees for associate members are set at $50 per year for non-profit entities and $100 per year for commercial enterprises.

SECTION IV: VERIFYING NON-PROFIT STATUS

The IAJGS Bylaws require that voting Regular Members are non-profit organizations.

Do the applicant’s governing or other documents (e.g. articles of incorporation or Bylaws) specify non-profit status?
Does the applicant have non-profit status recognized under the laws of your state, province, or country?

For USA applicants only: Is the applicant planning to apply for 501(c)(3) status under the IAJGS 501(c)(3) umbrella?

SECTION VI: REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS

  1. List of members to document minimum membership (see IAJGS Bylaws, Article IV, Section 1).
  2. Copy of applicant’s governing document, i.e., Bylaws. Please provide copy in English or original with English translation if original is not in English.
  3. Applicant mission statement or statement of purpose.
  4. Description of specific activities conducted,
    publications issued, or forums hosted during the past 12 months that document minimum activities (see IAJGS Bylaws, Article IV, Section 1).

SECTION VII: APPLICANT’S SIGNATURE

The applicant hereby applies for membership in IAJGS and agrees to adhere to the objectives of the IAJGS (per Article III of its Bylaws). The applicant organization hereby represents that it meets the minimum requirements for Associate Membership (per Article IV of its Bylaws). The applicant organization understands that the IAJGS Membership Committee will be consider this application and that additional documentation may be requested. If membership is denied, any submitted payment will be returned.
