This year the dates for International Jewish Genealogy Month are the evening of November 1 to November 30, 2016 coinciding with Cheshvan 5777 in the Jewish Calendar. Each year we hold a competition for a Poster to help celebrate IJGM .
The IAJGS International Jewish Genealogy Month Poster Competition starts on Monday January 25, 2016 to coincide with the the Jewish Festival of New Year for Trees - Tu B’Shevat, the 15th of Shevat on the Jewish calendar is the day that marks the beginning of a “new year” for trees. This is the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle. (information courtesy of Chabad.org).
